FAQ
You might have some questions for us as you consider checking us out. That is totally normal. We hope that some of the answers below and information found throughout the website will help you gain a better understanding of who we are, what we are about, and where we are going. If you have any additional questions, we encourage you to stop one of our pastors, call or e-mail the church, or whatever other way you feel comfortable asking.
What kind of church are you?
Community Bible Church is a nondenominational Bible believing church. This means that our church is not connected with any corporate church body. We are a group of people attemping to live out our faith and lives according to the examples of Jesus.
Do I have to dress up?
No. Come as you are. At Community Bible Church you’ll see lots of people in jeans. You’re welcome to dress casually, and come as you are.
Is there something for the kids?
Yes. Community Bible Church has wonderful programs for kids, birth through 6th grade. While parents are enjoying the service, kids can have fun and learn about God at their level. On Wednesdays we have a children’s ministry called Awana. We encourage you to check them out.
Is there something for the youth?
Yes. Community Bible Church has wonderful programs for youth in 7th through 12th grade. These various programs meet on Wednesday nights and on other weekend times as well. We encourage you to check them out.
Am I going to be singing hymns with an organ?
No. Our church offers alternative and contemporary worship styles. We have a worship band that is part of our service. The songs we do are meant to be relevant and full of meaning to the worshippers. Each person is encouraged to worship as they see fit. You will see people clapping their hands or raising their hands in praise. Others will be singing the songs and reflecting on the words.
Am I going to be “hit up” for money?
No. If you are new to Community Bible Church, please don’t feel obligated to give. People will never be pressured to give money here, but regular attenders at Community Bible Church who give as an act of worship to God, support the many ministries of the local church.
How do I get involved?
Attending weekend services is a good start, but we hope you’ll move beyond being just part of the weekend crowd. You can further your faith, meet people, and learn more about life as a Christ-follower by becoming part of our community groups, taking classes, and serving in the church in an area you’re interested and gifted in.
